Moreover, Qatar Chamber and Singapore Business Federation will hold Singapore-Qatar Business Forum to explore new opportunities for cooperation, Singapore’s ambassador to Qatar Jai S Sohan has said .
Several agreements between companies in both countries will be signed during the Forum, the Ambassador said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the Emir’s visit to Singapore commencing today.
The Ambassador said that the visit by His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will be the third state visit to Singapore after the two state visits paid by His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani as then Emir in 2005 and 2009, noting that Qatar is the only country from the Gulf Cooperation Council that has undertaken three state visits to Singapore.
Qatar is also the only country in the Middle East which has a High-Level Joint Committee with Singapore which was key to create a mechanism and platform to activate the joint cooperation between the two countries, he added.
The establishment of the High-Level Joint Committee for cooperation between Qatar and Singapore reflects the two countries’ keenness on strengthening longstanding bilateral relation in all fields, the ambassador stressed.
