  • Doha News

Job seekers in the Gulf region have often been warned of fake recruiting agency seeking money for employment at some of the leading companies.

Qatar-based Al Sraiya Group is the recent one to raise alarm of fake job offers being made by a recruiting agency in India on their behalf.

The company has lodged a complaint with the Indian Embassy in Doha who has further forwarded it to the Protector General in India for investigation.

The embassy had posted the letter send by the company on social media to make people aware of the scam.

In a letter signed by the COO, Ahmad Nasser Sraiya Al Kaabi, the company requested Indian Embassy to take action and warned candidates against dealing with unregistered recruiting firms.

The company received calls from Indian workers who wanted to know if the offers made were authentic and if they should deposit money with the agency. The candidates identified the agency as Joy International, 1st floor, DB Road, RS Puram, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

The letter further said that it deals with only registered agencies in India and completes formalitiethrough e.migrate portal of the Indian government.

To ensure transparency, Indian government has put in place tight controls to streamline recruitment of workers including its e-migrate portal.

‘All job aspirants should make it a point to check the authenticity of the job offers before paying any kind of fees or making any commitments, a recruiter warned.

It becomes imperative that anyone who comes to know about these scam offers should inform the relevant authorities so that these kinds of shady practices end.

‘All reputed companies will have their representative in the recruitment process or one can get all required information by sending a mail to the firm in question. This case came to light because some of them called the company directly. It’s praiseworthy that the company has taken up the cause with authorities so that such fraudulent activities will not happen in the future, he added.
